In addition, we offer local networking opportunities through community service and professional programming as well as opportunities to meet people from all over the country at regional and national conventions.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the scholastic honor society for graduates of accredited schools of business administration. Selection for membership represents the highest national honor bestowed by LSU's E. J. Ourso College of Business Administration. Of the 1,200 colleges and universities in the U.S. that offer business degrees, only 247 are eligible for Beta Gamma Sigma chapters.

Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) is a professional business fraternity consisting of undergraduate and graduate business majors. The fraternity's professional programs feature prominent business leaders speaking on various business- and career-oriented topics. DSP holds a membership in the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce. Other activities focus on civic service projects, volunteer services on campus, and social occasions.

The E. J. Ourso College of Business' Diplomats for Diversity is a student organization established to assist the Diversity & Inclusion Initiative with the recruitment and retention of minority undergraduate students. Diplomats attend student activities on and off campus. In addition, they work with the coordinator of the Minority Business Program to develop programs that support and create community among minority business and pre-business students. Diplomats also mentor students enrolled in the Bridge to Success Program.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is a national professional honorary accounting fraternity. LSU's chapter of this organization has achieved superior status in most of the last 15 years. The purposes of BAP include promoting an understanding of the field of accountancy, providing opportunities for self-development, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. Students are accepted into this organization based on academic performance.

The Undergraduate Economics/International Trade and Finance Club serves the needs of students by providing job market information for inquiring employers. The club holds meetings for professional education, occasionally sponsors a "field trip" to visit various businesses on-site, and hosts a social gathering each semester. All interested students are invited to join.



Omicron Delta Epsilon

Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world's largest academic honor societies. The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist , and sponsoring of panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions. Currently, Omicron Delta Epsilon has 578 chapters located in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Egypt, France, and United Arab Emirates. With such a broad, international base, chapter activities vary widely, ranging from invited speakers, group discussions, dinners, meetings, etc., to special projects such as review sessions and tutoring for students in economics. Omicron Delta Epsilon plays a prominent role in the annual Honors Day celebrations at many colleges and universities.

These goals are achieved through contacts with professional personnel from local real estate businesses and associations. The Masters Student Finance Association (MSFA) is an organization designed to provide a network of communication and information for current and future graduate students, as well as graduate faculty. The main goals of MSFA are to provide a link between students and financial professionals in an effort to increase awareness of employment opportunities, become more involved in the community through service projects, and enhance overall knowledge and understanding of sophisticated financial markets. The organization also helps to ease the transition for undergraduate students entering the graduate program and to increase the camaraderie among the students currently in the program. With the dedication of its members and advisors, the MSFA will serve to connect all current and future LSU students, faculty, and alumni with an interest in the field of finance.
