The JD/MPA is designed for students who intend to earn both a Juris Doctor and a Master's of Public Administration concurrently. The degree is offered through the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and the E. J. Ourso College of Business.

Admissions Requirements

Admissions requirements for the dual JD/MPA program encompass those of both the LSU law center and the MPA program, as outlined by LSU Graduate School Catalog.
Degree Requirements
A student may take the first year in the MPA program, completing 24 semester hours and then take six additional MPA hours in summer school. The student may take his or her second year in the law center, and during this first year in law school the student can only take law courses. After completing his or her first year in law school the student can take courses in the law center and in the MPA program. Six hours of law school courses will count for the MPA degree. The student can also start the program by first attending law school and then taking the MPA courses. We will work with the student to plan a schedule that will permit him or her to graduate with both degrees in four ears. Six hours of courses taken in the law center will count towards the MPA degree.

Satisfactory completion of the requirements should take four years of full-time study. Upon completion, students will be awarded both MPA and JD degrees.
