| Biographical Summary | | Dr. Black is the Piccadilly, Inc. Business Administration Business Partnership Professor in the Department of Marketing, E. J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University. He received his MBA in 1976 and Ph. D. in 1980, both from The University of Texas at Austin. He has held positions at the University of Arizona from 1980 to 1985 and has been at LSU from 1985 to the present. He is the co-author of the book Multivariate Data Analysis and Industrial Classification, Regional Market Structure and Divestiture. He has also published numerous articles in professional journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, Growth and Change, Transportation Research, Journal of Real Estate Research, Journal of General Management, Leisure Sciences, Economic Geography, and others, along with a number of chapters in scholarly books. His teaching interests are in the areas of multivariate statistics and the application of information technology, especially the evolution of marketing principles involved in e-commerce. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Association for Consumer Research, Association of American Geographers and is currently a member of the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Business Research. He has been retained as a marketing consultant for firms in the commercial waste service, food, automobile, land development and apparel retailing industries.
